Hi, I'm Maria Sawada Bognar, a web/graphic designer. I was born and raised in Tokyo
I majored in English literature at Sophia University in Tokyo because I was and still am a huge fan of Shakespeare, Charles Dickens, George Orwell, Jack Kerouac, and so on. After my career as a counsellor at an English conversation school and a pharmaceutical translator, I started studying web design at Internet Academy in 2018 as I heard about UX design from one of my friends and got interested in web design.
Since October 2019, I've been working as a web/graphic designer.
I've been living in Birmingham since July 2021

As I love reading books, I read books on UX design, logo design, colour combinations, typography, illustration, perspective, composition, layouts, history of design, traditional Japanese patterns and motiefs.
I also love visiting museums, travelling and watching movies and series. They are all areas where my inspiration comes from.
